Chiusa Grande vineyards extend over a surface of 50 hectares and are perfectly exposed to sunlight, which ensures ideal heat retention. Nevertheless, the climate for high quality viticulture requires cool night temperature. The clayey soil, as well as the accurate and differentiated orientation of the vineyards, guarantee varied production and right blending, fully underlining the peculiarities of the product.
Chiusa Grande, situated on a wide stretch of vineyards, has a basement used for storage and ground floor where the production process takes place. Between the two levels is a large wine barrel cellar. Chiusa Grande produces not only new wines, but also particular vintages aged in barrels or in French oak barriques. Conservation and aging are carried out in perfect condition of temperature, hygiene and protection. Cold bottling is performed after a micro-filtration process of the product and sterile washing of the bottles. In order to limit chemical treatments Chiusa Grande makes use of refrigerating units, tangential filters and micro/macro oxygenation. A test laboratory and a comfortable lounge for wine tasting are also available.
Produced wines are: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Merlot, Malvasia Toscana, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Chardonnay, Tocai.
