At the beginning of the 1993 Antonino Anastasi, strongly believing in organic agriculture, turned the Anastasi farm from a conventional farm in a company voted only toward organic agriculture. In the same year he established MEDITERRANEA FOODS an organic food trading company.
These years he pioneered the market beginning only with extra virgin olive oil production. Over the next 10 years, this company gained experience at different levels in the organic field and build up a network that makes MEDITERRANEA FOODS today an experienced sales and export company in Mediterranean organic products coming only from Italian cultivations. We deal each year with 500 tons of organic olive oil. In our plant we are able to handle 5000 bottles of organic olive oil per turn . We can stock 100 tons of organic olive oil. MEDITERRANEA FOODS is today one of ancient organic trading companies of southern Italy. It purchases and supplies 100% organic food covering the entire route from producer to customer. Everyday in our fields traditional methods with a modern concept are employed to pick up olives and citrus fruit at the best time in order to obtain the highest quality products from Extra Virgin Olive Oil to Olive Pâtes, Olives, and Essential Oils.
The association with independent organic farmers, makes possible for us to obtain 100% unadulterated row materials coming from olives, vegetables and citrus fruit of the highest quality.
All our procedures are checked so that the traceability of each batch is always guaranteed. We are certified for organic production by ICEA an IFOAM accredited body. We also hold the USDA/NOP certification for the USA market. We are accredited BIO SUISSE and ISO VISION, we comply with the SA8000 standard against the exploitation of weak workers especially children. All our products are OGM Free.
