The Nature Med S.r.l. company is committed to producing and selling pure liquorice in its various forms and derivatives. The strategic part of its corporate mission is the choice of using roots from Calabria only to create its entire product range.
Its hundred-year knowledge in terms of production techniques ensure that it obtains highly appreciated products, particularly for more aware consumers, constantly on the lookout for the real thing with the distinctive organoleptic characteristics of the juice of the liquorice. As well as manufacturing different flavoured pure liquorice pastilles, Nature Med also manufactures and sells liquorice-based liqueurs, like "LIQUORIZIA".
This product stands out due to the original recipe, as well as because it was the first one introduced onto the national and international markets, with more than 20 attempts at copying it. There is a great deal of appreciation for the products with certification that they come from organic farming, ICEA certified and with the AIAB guarantee (see "Certifications"). As far as this is concerned, we must point out that since 1998 Nature Med is still the first and only liquorice production company to obtain this certification. In 2001 Nature Med promoted setting up a Consortium to protect officinal plants in Calabria. The Consortium has already implemented a number of initiatives; one of these includes an application to the competent Bodies for a D.O.P. (protected denomination of origin) for the liquorice of Calabria. The Nature Med products are marketed under several brand names that apart from "LIQUORIZIA", include: "Rigulizia Cordara", "Glycyrizha-Glabra" and "Tradizione di Famiglia 1886". Over the years the company has preferred to work through third parties, prestigious commercial labels such as: Saila, Pastiglie Leone and others (see "Partners"). It has only recently decided to also sell its own labels. The new management decided on this new strategy, making new investments aimed at the market, but in particular investing in research projects. It is no accident that Nature Med is working on research projects with several Italian university institutes. Although it is a small company, the thing that makes it stand out is its capacity for innovation. One good testimony of this is the "LIQUORIZIA" liqueur, conceived in 1998, and the "CREMA di LIQUORIZIA", a cream liqueur which was recently introduced onto the market.
