The Consorzio garanziaBIO represents over 200 organic farms in all the Italian regions.
The sales proceeds of the partners (different of which are cooperative or regional consortia), to the production, it overcomes 30 million of Euro and it constitutes the most important experience of national organization of Italian organic producers.
The Consortium has been constituted at the end of 2004 by an initiative of many regional consortia of Italian organic producers.
As provided by the statute, can agree to the consortium only farms and food transformation firms; commercial companies are excluded.
The firms must have the garanziaBIO brand that can be given only to the certified organic firms in according to the EC regulation 2092/91, that produce with 100% Italian raw material (except the products that it is not possible to produce in Italy); besides the firms garanziaBIO must have finished the conversion period and the 100% of the firm must be organic; if they raise animals these must have fed 100% with organic food.
This association of producers was born to bring the productions of the partners and the garanziaBIO certification, synonymous of 100% food made in Italy. Besides the Consorzio garanziaBIO permit to strengthen the quality and the professionalism of firms that has done the history of the Italian organic productions and to motivate even more the young firms, everybody convinced that organic is not only a method of production, but also a choice for the environment and the consumers health; in short a different model of agriculture, of rural development and consumptions.
To represent and to promote “ The good Italian organic food”: this is the strategic choice of the Consorzio garanziaBIO.
